JULY MEDITATION, 2006
So far, this month seems to have been like the kind of summer we hope for. With temperatures soaring into the 30s as I write, there seems no need to head for warmer places. The meditation this month is inspired by the peaceful blue sky that I can see as I write. The garden is full of butterflies of many different colours and I am not able to identify many of them, as they are unfamiliar to me.
The Temple of Peace and Healing.
Centre yourself with your slow, gentle breathing. Feel as if you are breathing in light. You can see a beautiful ray of light shining on you. Then you can see seven blue crystal steps in front of you. The bottom step is a beautiful sapphire blue. Each one then becomes a paler shade of blue until the top one is a very pale silvery blue. Your feet are bare and as you climb the steps, you can feel the texture of the crystal, smooth and warm beneath your feet. You are feeling very relaxed, peaceful and calm.
When you get to the top step, you can see a wide pavement and you walk along it. Ahead of you is a beautiful building, like a cathedral or a temple, built of translucent, shimmering stones of blue lace agate. There is a beautiful door. Create this door with your inner vision. What is it made of? Is it gold, silver, wood, glass or some other material, known only in the world of light.
There is an angel on each side of the door and you go in. It is a temple of peace and healing, a place you can go to when you are in need of rest and relaxation. It is a huge temple, circular in shape. If you could look at it from above, the architecture would seem to be like a huge wheel. There is a large circular central hall, open to the light. It has 12 beautiful pillars of blue lace agate crystal. There are blue flowering shrubs and plants, some climbing up the pillars, others in tubs. In the centre is a circular blue healing pool and around it are smaller rooms, looking rather like the spokes of a wheel, but wider. These rooms are individual healing areas that you can come to when you need special healing. This time you are going to bathe in the central healing pool. There are steps all around it, so it is easy to get in. The water looks cool and inviting. Your own personal healing ( guardian) angel is with you. The water feels cool and refreshing, filled the aromatic scent of healing herbs. You can swim or float, paddle or splash or bathe, just as you wish. You feel all your worries and fears wash away and you feel clean and refreshed and filled with energy. As you leave the water, you realise you are wearing a new blue outfit, symbol of your newly healed self.
It is time to leave this healing temple, but you know you can return any time you wish. These meditations are important in creating positive conditions in our lives that are healing. You return to the entrance and walk out of the door, along the pavement and down the seven blue steps. Once again, become aware of your body, the room where you are sitting, your breathing. Rub your palms together, cup them over your closed eyes, feel the warmth. Gently massage your forehead, cheeks, jaw and chin, then open your eyes and stretch. Have a drink of water. You are ready again for every day things.
